Full job description

Multi-Skilled Tradesperson

Eco Homes Wirral has grown from a respected general building company (est. 30+ years) into a leading specialist in home energy retrofit and insulation. With demand for energy-efficient homes rapidly increasing across the UK, we’re expanding our team.

Based from our large warehouse in central Birkenhead, we deliver high-quality retrofit insulation (external and internal wall, loft, underfloor, room-in-roof), alongside full refurbishments, extensions and garage conversions across Merseyside, Cheshire and North Wales.

We’re now looking for an experienced Multi-Skilled Tradesperson who takes pride in their work and wants to develop long-term in the fast-growing retrofit sector.

Why Join Us?

  • Secure, full-time employment with a well-established local company
  • Company van provided (after qualifying driving period)
  • Ongoing paid training & retrofit qualifications (in company time)
  • Clear progression opportunities in a growing industry
  • Small, supportive team delivering high-quality work
  • Company pension & sick pay

If you’re looking to move away from patchwork subcontracting and into stable, skilled, future-focused work — this could be the role for you.

The Role

You’ll work within a small, skilled team delivering full home refurbishment and retrofit projects from start to finish.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • 1st and 2nd fix carpentry and plumbing
  • Tiling and general multi-trade works
  • Plastering (skim/render advantageous)
  • Supporting and supervising projects on site
  • Reading drawings/schematics and troubleshooting
  • Maintaining high standards of workmanship and safety
  • Providing professional, friendly customer service
  • Helping teammates keep projects on schedule
  • Attending funded training courses to gain additional retrofit qualifications

This role suits someone confident, hands-on, and capable of stepping up to ensure projects are completed to a high standard.

What We’re Looking For

  • Minimum Level 3 qualification in one trade
  • 5+ years site experience (multi-trade preferred)
  • Strong competency across multiple trades
  • Ability to supervise small teams when required
  • High attention to detail and pride in quality work
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Full clean UK driving licence (held minimum 5 years)
  • Right to work in the UK

Experience in retrofit insulation is highly desirable and will be prioritised.

The Ideal Candidate

You’re experienced, reliable, and professional.
You care about doing the job properly — not just quickly.
You want to grow your qualifications and future-proof your career.
You work well in a small team and are comfortable taking ownership of your work.
