Job Summary

MKS Construction (Scotland) Ltd is an established and growing construction company operating throughout Glasgow and the Central Belt.

Due to an increasing workload and a number of upcoming projects, we are looking for an experienced, reliable and hardworking Joiner to join our team on a self-employed basis.

We undertake a wide variety of domestic and commercial construction projects, including property renovations, extensions, structural alterations, kitchen & bathroom installations, refurbishments and general building works.

We are looking for someone who takes pride in their workmanship, can work independently when required and is comfortable carrying out a variety of joinery and general construction tasks.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out all aspects of 1st and 2nd fix joinery to a high standard.
• Undertake kitchen & bathroom installations, internal alterations, refurbishments and renovation works.
• Install doors, skirtings, facings, flooring, partitions and other general joinery.
• Carry out timber framing, structural joinery and roofing works where required.
• Assist with extensions, conversions and general building projects.
• Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Work independently or alongside other trades to deliver projects efficiently.
• Maintain a clean, safe and organised working environment.
• Communicate professionally with clients, subcontractors and other team members.
• Ensure all work is completed to a high standard and within agreed timescales.

Requirements

Essential:

• Proven experience as a Joiner.
• Strong knowledge of 1st and 2nd fix joinery.
• Experience working on domestic renovations, refurbishments and general construction projects.
• Ability to work independently, use initiative and problem-solve on site.
• Good attention to detail and pride in the quality of finished work.
• Reliable, punctual and able to work as part of a small team.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Own basic hand tools and power tools.

Desirable:

• Own van and transport
• Experience in extensions, loft conversions and structural alterations.
• Knowledge of roofing, timber framing and general building works.
• Ability to undertake minor works outside traditional joinery duties.
• Basic understanding of plumbing and electrical installations.
• Previous experience working on both domestic and commercial sites.

Pay: £18.00-£25.00 per hour
