We are excited to offer the opportunity to join a well-established family-owned building contractor who specialise in domestic construction work, ranging from small-scale re-development to large high specification new builds.
You’ll be working from sites across Chester, Wrexham and the Wirral as part of a flexible, small team, ensuring work on each site is completed on time and to the highest possible standards, whilst adhering to health and safety procedures.
The role
We are looking for a skilled tradesman to work as part of a growing team. Experience in all aspects of joinery and general construction is essential. You will be responsible for all aspects of joinery works and ensuring that all works are completed to a high standard.
Your primary function will to be undertake joinery work associated with property adaptations and renovations, in particular loft conversions, garage conversions, door widening & wall boarding. You will work closely with other trades such as builders, plumbers and electricians.
The role includes (but not limited to):
- Assembly of roofs (trusses & traditional pitched)
- Stud walls
- Joists and floorboards
- Fitting stairs
- Fitting doors & casings
- Fitting windows
- Working to drawings
- First fix joinery
- Second fix joinery
- Snagging work on completion of plots
- All aspects of Joinery works on single plot new build developments
Responsibilities
- Utilise power tools and hand tools to cut, shape, and assemble wood and other materials.
- Perform heavy lifting as required for transporting materials and completed structures.
- Collaborate with other tradespeople on-site, including electricians and masons, to ensure seamless project execution.
- Construct and install frameworks for roofs, doors, windows, and other structures.
- Carry out painting and finishing tasks to enhance the appearance of completed projects.
- Fabricate custom joinery items according to specifications, ensuring precision and quality.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment by following health and safety regulations.
You must have a Full UK Driving Licence
Experience
- Proven experience as a Joiner or in a similar role within the construction industry.
- Proficiency in using various power tools safely and effectively.
- Strong knowledge of joinery techniques, carpentry skills, and building codes.
- Experience with masonry work is advantageous but not essential.
- Ability to read technical drawings and plans accurately.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail are essential for success in this role.

What is in it for you?

· Access to a company vehicle following completion of probationary period
· Permanent contract, working Monday to Friday, 7.30am to 4pm. Flexibility will be required to meet business and customer needs, including occasional evening / weekend work.
