CR Design Services – Durham

CR Design Services is a growing architectural and structural design consultancy based in Durham. We specialise in residential projects including home extensions, loft conversions, refurbishments and new-build housing developments across the North East.

We are looking for an Architectural Technician or Architectural Technologist to join our team and assist with the preparation of planning drawings, building regulation drawings and technical construction details.

This is an office-based role working within a small and collaborative design team.

Important:

Applicants must have experience working in a UK architectural or engineering practice and a good working knowledge of UK Building Regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Preparing planning drawings for residential projects
  • Producing building regulation drawings and technical construction details
  • Preparing drawings using AutoCAD
  • Assisting with the preparation of drawing packages for building control submissions
  • Coordinating drawings with structural engineers and consultants
  • Assisting with the delivery of residential design projects from concept through to construction

Essential Requirements

  • Experience working in a UK architectural or engineering practice
  • Good knowledge of UK Building Regulations
  • Experience preparing planning drawings and building regulation drawings
  • Strong AutoCAD skills
  • Experience preparing technical construction drawings
  • Good communication and organisational skills

Desirable Experience

  • Experience working on residential projects (extensions, loft conversions, new build houses)
  • Knowledge of the UK planning process
  • Experience working with structural engineers
  • Experience producing construction details

Salary

£26,000 – £35,000 per year depending on experience

Location

Durham – Office based

Applicants must be able to reliably commute to Durham.
