Job description

Summary of the role:

Our Logistics and Customer Service Team play a key role in our client interface and our ideal candidate will have experience of delivering an excellent level of customer service and will have an administrative background to be able to offer support to our sales managers and purchasing team. This will require having knowledge of exporting worldwide from our UK and Dutch warehousing facilities, being able to navigate Sage 200 to find information and provide prompt responses to queries from both internal and external contacts. You will be confident in responding to email and telephone queries, and ensuring that all communications are handled accurately, professionally, and in a timely manner. Order processing from initial input through to final invoicing, keeping the customer updated with expected delivery times, vessel details etc

Hours of work: Monday to Friday 8am to 4pm (37.5 hours)

Requirements:

Essential: The successful individual will -

  • Have a confident and friendly manner and be able to liaise with people at all levels of our organisation, as well as directly with customers.
  • Demonstrate a high level of attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Be a team player who is able to work to individual and shared deadlines.
  • Be proficient in IT, particularly Sage 200 and Microsoft Office - Outlook and Excel.
  • Have strong communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to build effective working relationships.
  • Understanding of Incoterms
  • Driving license, occasional travel to our lab facility in Manchester and local warehouses will be required in a company vehicle.
  • Previous Customer Service experience.

Desirable: The successful individual will:

  • Have IATA – Dangerous goods by air qualification.
  • Exporting and importing experience into / out of UK and Europe.
  • Previous experience in admin and customer service within logistics/chemical industry sector.
