Full job description

Working with Agilité:

Agilité is a growing organisation, renowned for its ‘can-do’ attitude and a client roster that includes international names such as Lululemon, General Motors, Five Guys, Fred Perry, NBA, Nespresso, to name a few.

We are a general contractor and fit-out company for both tertiary and commercial spaces, working across Europe with international clients.

Agilité is committed to building a diverse and inclusive team of experts that will reflect our customers and users. We enjoy nothing more than seeing our employees thrive in an atmosphere of togetherness. We therefore aim to continue building a diverse workforce and foster different perspectives and unique ways of thinking – regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, lifestyle, age, educational background, national origin, religion, or physical ability.

With a headcount of 86 full-time employees across six European offices – France, Germany, Spain, Italy, the United Kingdom and Luxembourg – made up of eighteen different nationalities, our bilingual team offers the opportunity to carry out turnkey projects for international brands across the continent.

Role purpose

As a Junior Financial Controller, you will support the Finance team in monitoring financial performance across all entities, with a strong focus on the UK perimeter. You will play an active role in the month-end close and in revenue and margin recognition within a construction environment, where cut-off, progress tracking and data reliability are critical.
In addition, you will help oversee UK accounting activities and monitor key UK statutory/compliance returns such as VAT and CIS.
The role also involves continuous improvement of processes and tools, with an expectation to be AI-friendly and comfortable working with digital solutions — including active participation in the ERP implementation rollout in the UK (NetSuite).

Key responsibilities

Month-end close & performance reporting

  • Support the monthly closing process: preparation, controls, reconciliations, variance analysis and follow-up
  • Contribute to management reporting (KPIs, performance reviews, ad hoc analysis) for all entities, with deeper involvement on the UK scope
  • Perform consistency checks and ensure accurate cut-off and supporting documentation

Revenue recognition & margin recognition (Construction)

  • Participate in the construction revenue recognition process
  • Support controls and analysis of gross margin: reliability checks, documentation, investigation of variances
  • Work closely with operational stakeholders to validate input data (progress, costs, billing, etc.) and improve data quality

UK accounting oversight & compliance monitoring

  • Support the supervision of end-to-end British accounting activities in coordination with internal/external stakeholders
  • Monitor and follow up key UK compliance filings/returns, including:
  • VAT returns
  • CIS (Construction Industry Scheme) returns
  • Ensure proper documentation, timelines tracking and data consistency for UK-related reporting obligations

Ad hoc requests & stakeholder support

  • Respond to specific requests from Finance and stakeholders, such as ad hoc reporting, reconciliations, detailed analyses, and supporting documentation as required
  • Contribute to the preparation of materials for internal reviews, audits, or management requests

Systems, tools & ERP implementation (NetSuite / Excel / AI-friendly)

  • Use NetSuite for data extraction, analysis and control activities
  • Be actively involved in the UK ERP implementation of NetSuite (deployment support, testing/UAT, process alignment, data validation, training support and post go-live controls)
  • Build and maintain strong analytical files and control frameworks in Excel
  • Proactively suggest improvements in templates, controls and processes to increase efficiency and reliability
  • Apply an AI-friendly approach: use AI tools in a structured and responsible way to enhance analysis, reporting and control activities (critical thinking and good practices expected)

Candidate profile

  • Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, including a background such as Business Engineer (Ingénieur de Gestion) or equivalent
  • First experience in Finance / Audit / Controlling / Accounting (internships included)
  • Strong analytical mindset, attention to detail, and willingness to learn in a multi-entity environment
  • Strong interest in IT tools and process improvement

Technical skills

  • Very good Excel skills (analysis, structuring, pivot tables, formulas; Power Query is a plus)
  • Understanding of month-end close processes and cut-off principles
  • Experience with an ERP is an asset — NetSuite experience is a strong plus
  • Interest/understanding of construction revenue recognition topics (progress-based recognition, cut-off discipline, validation of operational inputs)
  • Awareness or willingness to learn UK compliance basics such as VAT and CIS (monitoring, deadlines, control mindset)

Languages

  • Fluent professional English (UK scope)
  • Professional French (team/environment)

Recruitment process

  • A practical test; Excel proficiency (analysis, controls, structuring) will be part of the interview process to assess:

Pay: £34,000.00-£40,000.00 per year

Education:

  • Bachelor's (required)

Location:

  • London EC1R (required)

Work Location: In person
