Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced waiter/waitress to join our vibrant Italian restaurant team. The ideal candidate will deliver exceptional guest service, ensure a memorable dining experience, and uphold the highest standards of food safety and hospitality. This role offers an exciting opportunity for individuals passionate about Italian cuisine and dedicated to providing outstanding customer care. The successful applicant will be responsible for taking orders, serving food and beverages, and creating a welcoming atmosphere for all guests.

Responsibilities

  • Greet guests warmly and present menus with enthusiasm.
  • Take accurate food and drink orders, ensuring special dietary requirements are noted.
  • Serve meals and beverages efficiently while maintaining presentation standards.
  • Upsell menu items to maximise sales opportunities and enhance guest experience.
  • Ensure timely delivery of orders and check in with guests to ensure satisfaction.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of tables, service stations, and dining areas.
  • Handle guest queries professionally, resolving issues promptly to ensure a positive experience.
  • Follow food safety protocols and hygiene standards at all times.
  • Assist in setting up tables and preparing the dining area before service begins.
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth operation during busy periods.

Experience

  • Previous experience working in a hospitality or restaurant environment is essential.
  • Proven ability in serving within a fast-paced setting, preferably within an Italian or similar cuisine restaurant.
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and proper food handling procedures.
  • Experience in food preparation or kitchen roles is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
  • Excellent guest service skills with a friendly, professional demeanour.
  • Basic maths skills for handling bills, payments, and transactions accurately.
  • Culinary or kitchen experience is a plus, demonstrating versatility in hospitality roles.
