Delaware North UK is hiring a full-time Back of House Manager to join our team at London Stadium in Stratford, East London. As Back of House Manager, you will be leading the back-of-house areas of the stadium, implementing systems to support the hospitality and culinary teams. What will you do?

  • Lead and manage the Back of House operation across the stadium's kitchens, hospitality areas, concessions, and catering support functions, ensuring all facilities are safe, clean, organised, and fully prepared for service.
  • Manage, motivate, and develop the Kitchen Porter and Back of House teams, ensuring staffing levels are appropriate to support matchdays, concerts, conferences, and other large-scale events.
  • Work closely with Head Chefs, Sous Chefs, and culinary teams to ensure all kitchens are correctly set up, stocked, and operationally ready before service, with equipment, deliveries, and support resources in place.
  • Coordinate the movement, storage, and distribution of food, beverages, equipment, and consumables across multiple kitchens and kiosks throughout the venue.
  • Ensure all kitchen and service areas maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and organisation before, during, and after events, supporting efficient service delivery and food safety compliance.
  • Conduct daily and weekly inspections of kitchens, storage areas, loading bays, waste management facilities, and Back of House operational spaces, taking corrective action where required.
  • Support the recruitment, training, scheduling, and performance management of Kitchen Porters and Back of House team members, working closely with the People Team to meet staffing requirements within budget.
  • Manage the Back of House equipment and operational budget, including purchasing equipment, controlling stock levels, managing supplier relationships, and monitoring costs.
  • Ensure all operations comply with current Health & Safety legislation, food hygiene regulations, fire safety requirements, manual handling procedures, licensing laws, and company policies.
  • Act as a key operational leader on event days, proactively resolving issues and ensuring Back of House teams deliver exceptional support to front-line catering and hospitality operations.

More about you

  • 3+ years’ experience, including experience in a high-volume, logistically challenging environment
  • Experience managing, guiding, and leading large teams within a high-volume, fast-paced catering or hospitality environment
  • Knowledge of manual handling
  • Skills in people management, training, task delegation, written and verbal communication, advanced IT, accounting skills, with experience in purchasing systems, and knowledge of suppliers
  • Forklift license is beneficial

Physical requirements

  • Ability to travel to other operational locations when required
