Full job description

We are looking to appoint a Loss Prevention Operative to work in our fashion and home retail stores , you'll help to deliver our goal of keeping our customers, employees and merchandise safe.

Experience of being in a customer facing role, within a busy retail environment or security guard role is ideal but not essential. The role is full time 40 hours with various shifts over 5 working days per week. You will be required to work in our stores located primarily in and around north and east London but may be required to travel to different stores across the business if needed. Travel costs will be reimbursed.

Choice is one of the leading fashion discount outlets, based in the southeast of the UK with over 22 Stores in various locations, and over 50 years of history. We specialise in selling surplus discounted women's, men’s and children’s fashion, footwear, and home and furniture products from one of the UK’s leading high street brands.

An SIA licence is not necessary for this role but would be an advantage.

This is a permanent, full time position, salary is £31,000 per annum plus additional travel costs and a generous staff discount.

In this role:

· You will be supporting a positive customer experience within our stores by being a visible, friendly, approachable presence at our entrance doors.

· You will be focused on deterring loss on the salesfloor by detecting and preventing shoplifting.

· Have the ability to confidently apprehend and detain individuals involved in criminal activities until law enforcement arrives.

· Working with store management to maintain a safe working environment for our employees.

· You will aim to deliver effective conflict resolution when required.

· You will need to demonstrate your ability to remain calm and professional under pressure.

· You will also be self-motivated, resilient and driven to make a difference with a natural ability to communicate.

· Complete accurate and detailed reports on incidents, investigations, and security breaches.
