As a result of our continued growth and ongoing success, we are seeking a dynamic Stock Analyst to join our Head Office team in Plymouth.

About the Role:

We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Stock Analyst to join our team. This role is pivotal in supporting the business to reduce stock loss, identify operational risks, and improve overall performance through data-driven insights.

Working closely with teams across Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, IT, and Loss Prevention, you will analyse stock movement and loss-related data to identify trends, investigate discrepancies, and recommend effective solutions. Responsibilities:

• Collect, analyse, and interpret data from a range of sources to identify trends, risks, and opportunities related to stock loss, shrinkage, theft, fraud, and operational inefficiencies.
• Monitor stock movements and investigate discrepancies, unusual activity, and inconsistencies that may indicate loss events.
• Produce and maintain regular and ad hoc reports, dashboards, and scorecards that provide meaningful insights into loss prevention performance and key business metrics.
• Conduct root cause analysis on loss-related incidents and work with stakeholders to identify and implement corrective actions.
• Collaborate with departments including Store Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, IT, and Security to support loss prevention initiatives and business objectives.
• Review and improve data collection, reporting, and analytical processes to increase efficiency and accuracy.
• Provide guidance and support to operational teams on how data can be used to identify risks and improve stock management practices.
• Support investigations and audits relating to theft, stock discrepancies, and other loss prevention matters through the provision of detailed analysis and reporting.
• Ensure all activities are carried out in line with company policies, procedures, and relevant regulatory requirements.

Person Specification:

Essential

• Previous experience in data analysis, stock control, loss prevention, or related analytical role.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret large datasets, identify trends, and generate actionable business insights.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including the use of formulas, pivot tables, data manipulation, and reporting tools.
• Intermediate to advanced SQL knowledge and experience querying data from multiple databases.
• Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to identifying and resolving discrepancies.
• Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills, with the ability to recommend practical solutions.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly to a range of stakeholders.
• Experience working collaboratively across multiple departments and building effective stakeholder relationships.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Desirable

• Experience working within a retail, distribution, logistics, warehouse, or supply chain environment.
• Experience supporting loss prevention, fraud prevention, stock accuracy, or shrinkage reduction initiatives.
• Knowledge of data visualisation tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
• Experience in creating automated reports, dashboards, and performance scorecards.
• Understanding stock management, inventory control, or audit processes.
• Experience supporting investigations into stock loss, theft, fraud, or operational issues.
