About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated Head Chef to join our team at Hallmark Luxury Care Homes, where quality of care is at the heart of everything we do.

As a Head Chef, you'll have the opportunity to deliver luxury hotel/restaurant standards without the split shifts and long weeks. That means a good work/ life balance! You'll have full autonomy in creating nutritious, flavoursome, and well-balanced menus tailored around our residents' preferences. Working with fresh produce, you'll cook high-quality and wholesome dishes from scratch, ensuring that every meal is cooked to the highest standards.

We also promote a good work/life balance! We have developed a team rota of 4 days on/ 3 days off as being very successful and fulfilling for our kitchen team. That means most evening shifts are finished by 7pm and only working every other weekend.

Your Responsibilities:

• Menu Development: Tailor menus around residents' preferences and ensure person-centred hospitality.
• Culinary Excellence: Work with fresh produce to create high-quality and wholesome dishes that meet our residents' dietary needs.
• Team Leadership: Lead, motivate, inspire, and develop a team of culinary professionals. Managing the kitchen team rota is also a requirement.
• Budget Management: You will have full ownership of the kitchen budget and work within budget constraints while maintaining high standards of food quality.
• Audits and Stock Control: Complete regular audits and manage stock control to minimize waste and maximize efficiency.

What Makes a Hallmark Care Home Head Chef

• Personable and Warm: You have a genuine interest in the well-being of our residents and create a warm and welcoming environment.
• Qualifications: Hold City & Guilds/NVQ/SVQ or equivalent qualifications in culinary arts.
• Leadership Experience: Experience in leading, motivating, and inspiring a culinary team.
• Nutrition Knowledge: A good understanding of nutrition and dietary requirements.
• Culinary Skills: Experience working with fresh seasonal food and creating appetising and nutritious menus.
• HACCP: Good understanding of Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) principles.
