We are looking for a reliable, resilient, and proactive Trainee Transport Planner to join our busy haulage and logistics operation.

About the Role:

This is not a quiet desk job—it’s a fast-paced, dynamic environment where plans change constantly. Transport planning is a rewarding career where no two days are the same. You will learn to solve real logistical problems, balancing customer requirements, vehicle availability, drivers’ hours, and delivery schedules to keep our operation running smoothly.

The role perfectly combines analytical thinking with strong people skills. You will work closely with data and tracking systems, while constantly communicating with drivers, customers, and colleagues to find practical solutions to operational challenges.

What You Will Learn & Do:

  • Problem Solving: Develop the confidence to make quick decisions and find practical solutions under pressure.
  • Operations Management: See the direct impact of your daily decisions on tomorrow’s operations, putting your new knowledge into practice immediately.
  • Communication: Serve as a key link between drivers, customers, and internal teams to ensure safe, efficient, and on-time deliveries.
  • Analytical Skills: Master our tracking systems, routing software, and logistics data.

Working Hours & Shift Patterns:

We offer a stable shift pattern, but please note this role includes weekend coverage:

  • Option A: Thursday to Monday (Rest Days: Tuesday & Wednesday)
  • Option B: Wednesday to Sunday (Rest Days: Monday & Tuesday)
  • Start Time: 11:00 AM until finish
