Maintenance & Facilities Person

Monday to Friday, 9am - 5pm

Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and pro-active Maintenance & Facilities Manager to manage the maintenance, health & safety, and operational efficiency of our Care Home premises.

The successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of maintenance at Pax Hill, which will include hands-on DIY, managing suppliers and trades, weekly maintenance/H&S checks and ensuring the smooth functioning of all facility-related activities.

This hands on, practical role offers an excellent opportunity for a proactive team player with strong DIY skills, some basic IT and admin experience and good knowledge of H&S within a care home setting.

To clarify, this is first and foremost a hands-on, practical role, with a smaller element of admin/organisation - most of your week will be spent carrying out maintenance and safety checks around the home.

The successful candidate will be required to:-

  • Maintain all areas of a busy care home
  • Oversee maintenance schedules, including electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems
  • Conduct regular inspections to identify potential issues and implement preventative measures
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations across all areas of the facility
  • Coordinate with external contractors and service providers for specialised repairs or installations
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and project progress

Skills

  • Excellent DIY skills and practical building maintenance experience
  • Basic plumbing and electric skills highly desirable
  • Excellent time management and planning skills
  • Health & Safety experience
  • Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail
