  • £35,000 - £45,000, depending on experience
  • Hertfordshire

A growing Hertfordshire-based beauty brand, supplying major retailers across the UK and Europe, is looking for a Product Developer to join the team. You'll manage development from initial concept through to production, working closely with factories, suppliers and compliance to get products to market on time and to spec, for a business that's going from strength to strength.

What you'll be doing:

  • Negotiating product costs with factories to secure the best possible pricing
  • Identifying product and packaging solutions that meet customer needs and hit target costs
  • Working with factories to take products from concept visuals through to first samples
  • Liaising with compliance teams to ensure products meet licensor and regulatory requirements
  • Coordinating, inspecting and approving samples, components and cutter guides
  • Writing artwork briefs from scratch, covering all copy, compliance and product information
  • Reviewing and sign-off on final artwork against the brief before it goes to factories
  • Managing factory relationships, making sure all required information is provided fully and on time
  • Managing critical paths and timelines to hit business and customer deadlines
  • Keeping an eye on beauty and gifting trends, and bringing ideas to the table for new product development

What we're looking for:

  • At least 3 years' experience in buying or product development
  • Background in beauty, cosmetics or gifting is ideal
  • Experience with licensed products is a bonus, but not essential
  • Confidence negotiating with factories on cost, quality and lead times
  • Strong organisational skills, comfortable juggling multiple projects and critical paths
  • A sharp eye for detail across artwork, compliance and product specification
  • Genuine enthusiasm for beauty and gifting trends, with ideas of your own to bring to NPD

ILMJ values diversity, equality and inclusion, and welcomes applicants from all backgrounds and identities.

Pay: £35,000.00-£45,000.00 per year

Benefits:

  • Casual dress
  • Company events
  • Sick pay
