Join an international organisation offering hybrid working and compressed schedules after 13 weeks.

Reporting Accountant

Status: Temp/Contract
Location: Aberdeen
Rate: Available Upon Request

E&P contract opportunity to start as soon as possible for at least 12 months. You will hold a key role in supporting financial and management reporting, providing insight and analysis to aid decision-making. We are particularly interested in candidates who have Mandarin language skills to support our international operations, and are open to considering individuals across a range of experience levels.

Overview job description

  • The role requires strong analytical capability, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate financial information clearly to stakeholders across the organisation
  • This is a broad reporting role providing exposure to both financial and management reporting within a dynamic and international working environment
  • Mandarin language skills would be advantageous for liaising with international teams

Main duties and responsibilities

  • Preparing accurate and timely financial and management reporting, including monthly reports, analysis, and supporting schedules
  • Supporting the month-end and quarter-end close processes, ensuring completeness and adherence to deadlines
  • Performing variance analysis and providing clear commentary on business performance
  • Preparing and contributing to reports and presentations for senior management
  • Performing balance sheet analysis and investigating variances to ensure data integrity
  • Supporting budgeting, forecasting, and outlook processes
  • Building effective relationships with stakeholders across finance, operations, and international teams
  • Identifying opportunities to improve reporting processes, controls, and efficiency
  • Ensuring compliance with internal controls and SOX requirements
  • Providing support to the wider team, including cover, ad-hoc analysis, and project work as required
