Ramsbury Brewery & Distilling Co Ltd. Is part of the Ramsbury Estates Group made up of over 19,000 acres of Northeast Wiltshire, West Berkshire and North Hampshire, the home farms are centred on the beautiful village of Ramsbury, which nestles in the heart of the Kennet valley.

On site at Ramsbury, we built our brewery in 2004 to make the most of the world-class barley grown in our fields and the natural progression was to build the distillery in late 2014 with the first bottle of single estate spirit being sold in 2015 and both have been winning awards since.

The company has seen growth through on-line sales, wholesale relationships and distribution partnerships and is seeking a Head of Sales to further support our growth strategy. We are truly a field to glass Brewery & Distillery and we are quite unique in growing our wheat and Barley on site which we use for Mashing, fermentation and then Distilling of our Spirit. We set the benchmark for environmental sustainability and circular supply chains and continually challenge ourselves and our suppliers to do better.

A bit about you

We are looking for a person who can integrate well into a small team and is a strong voice for Strategic Growth, Consistency and Customer Service. You will be an expert in wholesale management, routes to market, sales team management, growing organic sales and increasing market share, with an eye for detail and a thirst for knowledge and growth.

The successful candidate will have an excellent sales track record, strategic management experience and is likely to have a background in the spirits or beverage business in a similar role, or a transferrable industry. You will be proactive in your approach to expanding each of the sales channels we occupy now and in the future.

The role

We are seeking an experienced and agile Sales Manager to join our business as the Head of Sales, you will be accountable for guiding our sales team and driving revenue growth by setting and achieving sales goals and managing RTMs, wholesalers and key accounts personally. You will be the first point of contact for all UK sales activities for external distribution organisations and interact daily with internal stakeholders eg. operations and across the management team to align goals and the overall business strategy as well as day to day running of the business.

Responsibilities & Accountabilities

Leadership and Strategy:

· Provide strong leadership and guidance to the sales team

· Set clear expectations and foster a high-performance culture.

· Collaborate with senior management to align sales strategies with overall business objectives.

· Proactively look for new routes to market and sales strategies.

Inspire and Motivate:

· Inspire and motivate all your reports and colleagues to achieve their targets and deliver exceptional results.

· Foster a collaborative environment that encourages innovation, creativity and growth as well as responsibility and accountability for actions and outcomes.

Empathy and Customer-Centric Approach:

· Instil a customer-centric mindset within the team, emphasizing the importance of recognising customer needs and providing exceptional service.

Relationship Management:

· Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key clients, leaders and strategic partners.

· Act as a point of escalation for client issues, working closely with the Sales team to resolve conflicts and maintain positive relationships.

Performance Monitoring and Analysis:

· Utilize data-driven insights to make informed choices and enhance sales strategies.

· Provide regular reports and updates to senior management on sales performance, market trends, and competitor activities.

· Assess and report on sales & marketing performance against key performance indicators (KPIs) and measure return on investment (ROI).

· Manage the team’s KPIs, bonuses and other needs.

Market research & Brand Direction

· As a valued and respected team member your opinions matter and will be essential in helping to set the brand direction for the Brewery and Distillery.

· This will encompass feeding information and strategies to support NPD, market development, brand guidelines encompassing new product development

Ideal Skills/Competencies

  • 10+ years of Sales experience
  • 2+ years of spirits / brewing
  • Experience working with x-functional partners such as Distribution, Production and Tendering processes.
  • Exceptional business acumen and a strategic mindset to contribute to overall company growth.
  • Entrepreneurial, ambitious and resilient.
  • An understanding of marketing strategies.
  • Demonstrable success in delivering against KPI's and targets.
  • Effective in motivating and inspiring a diverse team with a focus on building and maintaining relationships.
  • Demonstrates outstanding communication and presentation aptitude, both verbal and written.
  • Expected to Join our agile and inclusive team as the Head of Sales and contribute to our mission of providing the highest Quality of products produced in the most Ethical and Sustainable way fostering a culture of empathy and success.
  • Uses data systems effectively to manage your relationships and prospects pipeline, to allow for accurate forecasting and reporting, and to ensure you meet your KPI’s. Brewman experience a bonus.

Salary Range

47,500 - 52,500 GBP per year + car allowance and expenses

This is a full time, permanent job with a working pattern that reflects the business we are in.

An office based role, you will be required to commute to SN8 2NN, with some customer and event related travel.
