Cafe Manager – Frequency Coffee

We’re Frequency Coffee, an independent specialty coffee company with 8 locations including a cafe roastery in Stevenage.

At Frequency, we’re passionate about exceptional coffee, fresh food, and creating welcoming spaces for our guests. As we continue to grow, opening new sites, expanding our online/offline presence, and developing our in-house offering, this is a chance to be part of shaping something special from the ground up.

What You’ll Be Doing

As an Assistant Café Manager, you’ll take full ownership of the day-to-day running of the cafe, ensuring high standards of service, coffee, and food. You’ll be a hands-on leader who sets the tone for excellence and professionalism, while fostering a positive and supportive team culture.

Key responsibilities include supporting the manager in the following areas:

  • Leading and motivating the team to deliver outstanding customer service.
  • Managing daily operations, staff rotas, and delegating tasks effectively.
  • Recruiting, onboarding, and training new staff.
  • Overseeing coffee and food preparation to maintain Frequency’s quality standards.
  • Handling customer feedback and resolving issues professionally.
  • Managing stock, ordering, and weekly stocktakes.
  • Driving sales growth through upselling, waste management, and operational efficiency.
  • Reporting on shop performance to the Area Manager and Directors.
