The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced, commercially minded and hands-on Hotel Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of The Sharnbrook Hotel.

Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer, you will provide visible leadership across all departments, ensuring exceptional guest experiences while delivering operational excellence, financial performance and regulatory compliance.

This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious hospitality professional who enjoys leading from the front and thrives within a busy hotel environment that includes accommodation, food & beverage, conferences, weddings and events.

Key Responsibilities

As Hotel Manager you will:

Leadership & Operations

  • Lead the daily operation of the hotel across all departments.
  • Inspire, coach and develop Heads of Department and their teams.
  • Foster a positive, collaborative and high-performing workplace culture.
  • Ensure operational standards and company procedures are consistently maintained.

Commercial Performance

  • Deliver agreed revenue and profitability targets.
  • Monitor labour costs, departmental performance and operational efficiencies.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting and cost control initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities to improve revenue and guest satisfaction.

Guest Experience

  • Ensure outstanding service throughout the guest journey.
  • Lead complaint resolution and service recovery.
  • Monitor guest feedback and online reviews, implementing improvements where required.
  • Maintain exceptional presentation standards throughout the property.

Weddings & Events

  • Provide operational leadership for weddings, conferences and major events.
  • Ensure seamless coordination between departments.
  • Support successful event delivery from planning through execution.

People Management

  • Recruit, develop and retain talented colleagues.
  • Support performance management, training and succession planning.
  • Promote employee engagement and continuous development.

Compliance & Property

  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, Food Safety, Licensing and GDPR requirements.
  • Oversee maintenance planning and property presentation.
  • Maintain a safe environment for guests, employees and contractors.

Reporting

  • Produce regular operational and commercial reports.
  • Analyse business performance and recommend improvements.
  • Work closely with the Chief Operating Officer to deliver strategic objectives.

About You

We're looking for someone who brings:

  • Proven experience as a Hotel Manager, Operations Manager or Senior Hotel Leader.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate diverse teams.
  • Experience managing multi-department hotel operations.
  • Strong commercial awareness with budget and KPI management experience.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Experience within hotels offering accommodation, restaurants, conferences and weddings.
  • A hands-on leadership style with a passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences.
  • Knowledge of UK hospitality legislation and compliance requirements.
