About the opportunity
This is an opportunity to register your interest in future Tester roles within software quality assurance and validation. Roles of this type support the delivery of robust, reliable software by identifying defects, validating functionality and ensuring products meet quality standards before release to users.
You could be part of a collaborative testing function that works closely with development, product and operations teams to maintain quality throughout the product lifecycle. The work could involve executing test plans, documenting findings, collaborating on issue resolution and contributing to continuous improvements in testing practices.
Typical role overview
- Location: UK-wide
- Type: Contract · Full-time
- Day Rate: £300–400 per day (or £250–280 per day depending on experience and contract terms)
- Education: Associate's degree in Computer Science or equivalent
- Domain: Software quality assurance · testing and validation
What you would do
Typical responsibilities could include:
- Executing manual and automated test plans across assigned features and modules
- Documenting test cases, results and defects using testing management tools
- Identifying, reporting and tracking software defects and quality issues
- Collaborating with development teams to understand requirements and test scope
- Validating bug fixes and confirming resolution of reported issues
- Contributing to test coverage improvements and quality reporting
- Supporting regression testing cycles and release validation activities
- Participating in test planning sessions and requirement reviews
What you could bring
Most roles of this type require the following:
- Proven experience in software testing, including manual test execution
- Working knowledge of test case design, test planning and defect documentation
- Familiarity with testing tools, defect tracking systems and test management platforms
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify edge cases and potential issues
- Clear communication skills for documenting findings and collaborating with technical teams
- Associate's degree in Computer Science or equivalent professional qualification
- Ability to work independently and as part of a wider quality assurance team
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with automated testing frameworks or scripting languages
- Knowledge of Agile testing practices and continuous integration environments
- Experience testing web, mobile or cloud-based applications
- Familiarity with performance or security testing methodologies
