Full job description

Looking for something a bit different?

Would you be interested in helping our small specialist team to produce some of the finest custom games machines known to man for some of the most interesting business/private clients across the globe?

Do you have a high attention to detail as well as a will to always exceed expectations?

Are you good at working delicately with hand tools but also technical enough to feel confident with work on PC hardware/software as well as eventually offering support to clients?

Do you dream of working in the gaming world and have the drive/self motivation to help us to push our established business forwards?

Bespoke Arcades was founded in 2005. We have been producing high-end custom arcade and gaming machines from our UK workshop for over 20 years and are widely known as the most trusted as well as finest games machine producer in our industry.

Our BA machines are considered the best in the world, and we currently produce arcade machines or custom ranges for all of the best UK resellers (that include Harrods, Selfridges, Hamleys, Costco, Home Leisure Direct, Liberty Games, Gamesroom Company, etc). We have worked on a wide variety of custom projects for some of the best-known game franchises (Mortal Kombat, Street Fighter, Injustice, etc) as well as for the largest companies which include Google, Puma, Amazon, Warner Bros, 2K Games, Capcom, Activision, EA amongst many others.

We are actively seeking a new team member in the area of gaming machine fitting out with PC building/support skills and general workshop/warehouse tasks.

We will provide full training in all aspects as required but to be considered you should have all or some of the following...

To be considered:

You would ideally have a passion for gaming (retro + new if possible!) and have some experience in PC building/testing as well as setting up software.

You must have a genuine desire to help our small team build and support our gaming products with a sense of pride in your work.

You must be organised and confident in your ability to learn to test/build PCs for our arcade machines as well as learn to deal with repair/troubleshoooting calls on phone/remotely with some on-site visits (after training of course).

You must be physically fit, happy and able to lift heavy items as well as coordinated and good/adept with your hands.

You must also be reliable, punctual, efficient and orderly.

Your main roles will include:

- General product building tasks, the assembly of our products using set parts and methods.

- Working with building, testing and setting-up software on PC's for gaming machines

- Providing a high level of customer service and dealing with troubleshooting clients when requiring support (after training) as well as organising repair schedules with our team. Once trained, occasional on-site client visits across the UK will be expected.

- Some more technical tasks (once trained) such as wiring button panels, setting up of custom hardware (dual screens, virtual pinball, etc) and potentially some PC set-up as well as provision of support to team members in various other areas of the business as required.

Your role will also include:

- Product testing, cleaning and preparation/palletising of products for delivery

- Stock unboxing/organisation, stocktaking, recycling duties, workshop maintenance

- Answering the phone as required and learning to vet calls as well as take/pass-on messages when necessary.

This role has been designed to progress you towards being a qualified cabinet build and PC technician and once experienced, potential workshop management with the chance to run a small team of individuals in the cabinet technician PC specialism side of our business.

You will usually work to fulfill preassigned projects within set lead time timescales.

You must be keen to learn fast, work hard with persistence and already be confident in your ability to “hit the ground running” to help us push our business further in the relevant directions.

You will also need to be practical, well involved and open to assist with the day to day running of the business (whether or not included in the remit).
