Full job description

Place the orders that get race parts on the bench for next week, not next quarter. A fast-paced motorsport buyer role for someone who can source quickly, judge a quote on the spot and keep a fast-moving programme on track.

About the role:
You will join the motorsport purchasing team of a leading motorsport and advanced engineering business in Banbury, buying parts for a live race programme. This is a fast-paced, low-volume buying role where speed and judgement matter more than paperwork. You will place orders quickly, often without lengthy RFQ processes, and keep clean records as priorities shift around you.

What you'll do:
  • Source and place orders for motorsport components against fast-moving build dates.
  • Move quickly to find suppliers with capacity and secure parts to tight deadlines.
  • Judge quotes for value and place orders with sound commercial judgement.
  • Manage a fast-changing programme, keeping clear records in the ERP system and in Excel as requirements change.
  • Make sure every part on your programme is on order and tracked to its build date.
  • Build strong working relationships across a known supplier base.

What you'll bring:
  • Buying or purchasing experience in motorsport, automotive or a fast-paced engineering environment.
  • Confidence placing orders at speed and making quick, sound sourcing decisions with incomplete information.
  • Genuine comfort working from ERP data daily and managing changing data in Excel.
  • A highly organised approach, able to juggle shifting priorities without losing track.
  • A hands-on buyer who places orders and owns parts through to receipt.
  • Motorsport experience is ideal, though relevant fast-paced manufacturing or engineering purchasing also fits.

What's on offer:
Salary of £45,000 to £50,000.
25 days holiday rising with service, plus the option to buy up to 15 more days.
Pension and car salary sacrifice schemes.
Funded professional development.
On-site facilities including a subsidised staff restaurant.
