Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated and safety-conscious Plant Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating chemical processing equipment, adhering to standard operating procedures, and maintaining a safe work environment.

Chemence is a market-leading manufacturer and supplier of high performance industrial adhesives and sealants.

The Plant Technician's role is responsible for assisting the team in all aspects of the plant operation during the shift including use of the correct health and safety procedures, control of the plant using standard operating procedures, maintenance of the plant in a clean and safe condition and reporting all significant events. Using their best endeavours to assist the Senior Plant Technician achieve the desired plant output with the desired quality and make the products required by the production schedule.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Operate chemical processing equipment in accordance with standard operating procedures.
  • Monitor production processes and make necessary adjustments to ensure the quality and quantity of products meet established standards.
  • Perform routine maintenance on equipment and troubleshoot problems as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records of production and equipment maintenance.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and procedures, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe handling of chemicals.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Work with other team members to ensure a safe and productive work environment.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years’ experience in chemical processing or related field (preferred)
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow procedures.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule as needed.
  • Good literacy and numeracy skills.

Job Types: Permanent, Full-time
