Marine Academy Manager

Location: Falmouth Marine School
Salary: £28,402.92 to £33,865.02 FTE (SPM 1 to SPM4)

Terms & Conditions: Full Time (37 hours/52 weeks), Teaching Contract
Closing Date: 16 August 2026

About the Role

Due to continued growth across the Cornwall College Group and increasing demand within the marine sector, we're seeking a marine professional to join our friendly team. As Marine Academy Manager, you will play a key part in supporting expanding learner numbers and strengthening curriculum delivery within the department.

You will oversee all aspects of the learner journey, including attendance, achievement, progression, industry placements, pastoral support, and employer engagement.

The successful candidate will work closely with local marine employers and industry partners to maintain strong employer links and ensure the curriculum reflects current industry practices, emerging technologies, and evolving skills demands.

Skills & Experience

The ideal candidate will have a breadth of experience with the marine industry - from marine engineering to boatbuilding. You will hold a relevant Level 3 qualification as a minimum, Level 2 English and maths, and a recognised teaching qualification such as AET, DET, PGCE, or Certificate in Education (or be willing to achieve this within three years).

We are looking for someone with excellent communication skills, strong integrity and work ethic, a calm and professional approach under pressure, and a genuine commitment to continuous learning, teamwork, and delivering high-quality outcomes for learners.
