Director of Licensing

EMEA (Europe, the Middle East & Africa) | Global Consumer Brand Licensing | London Office, Full-Time

Our client, a global consumer brand licensing business, is looking for a commercially driven Director of Licensing to lead and grow its licensing operations across EMEA (Europe, the Middle East & Africa). This is a senior, strategic role, working as part of a wider global licensing team and reporting to the President of Global Licensing. This is an office-based role, and candidates must be able to commit to working full-time from the London office.

Please note: candidates MUST have a background in the apparel / fashion industry, with relevant experience gained within licensing in this sector, to be considered for this role.

The Role - Director of Licensing

Reporting to the President of Global Licensing, you will take ownership of the EMEA licensing business, driving new business development, managing key licensee and retailer relationships, and shaping strategy for the region. Key accountabilities include:

  • Business Development: pursuing new business opportunities across the brand portfolio, including conventional licensing, DTC and Direct to Retail.
  • building long-term relationships with new and existing EMEA licensees, and identifying white space opportunities across markets and categories.
  • negotiating licence agreements, renewals, amendments and extensions, and overseeing the legal contract process with support from the Licensing Coordinator and legal team.
  • Strategic Planning: developing and updating strategic plans to meet or exceed budget for EMEA licensing, reporting into senior management.
  • partnering with finance on annual planning, budget management, and revenue forecasting.
  • Brand Management: working with licensees to increase product penetration and presentation across all approved channels.
  • attending licensee launch events, monitoring merchandising needs, and evaluating the retail landscape and competitor activity.
  • Marketing: developing and executing a marketing strategy for EMEA licensing, including PR and communications for licensed brands.
  • Team Leadership: leading and mentoring the Licensing Coordinator, and building strong cross-functional relationships internally.

What We're Looking For

  • Essential: a background in the apparel / fashion industry, with relevant, hands-on experience in this sector, is essential.
  • proven experience working within the licensing industry, across a range of brands.
  • a degree-level education.
  • strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence at senior level.
  • the ability to work independently as well as part of a global team.
  • Location: This is a full-time, office-based role - you must be able to attend the London office five days a week. This is not a remote or hybrid position and you must be within a commutable distance from their office in central London.

What's on Offer

  • Competitive executive salary
  • Comprehensive benefits package including private medical insurance, life assurance, and contributory pension
  • Employee discounts across an extensive portfolio of globally recognised brands
  • A dynamic, international working environment within a creative and collaborative business
  • Real influence
