Full job description

Marketing & Digital Content Assistant

Initially 2 days per week – on site in Gainsborough (Approx 10-12 hours total)
Potential for the role to grow

We’re looking for somebody to join us on a part-time basis and help us look after the digital and marketing side of our businesses.

The role will initially be two days per week, working on site, supporting our three businesses (restaurant, butchers and deli) alongside our podcast.

This is a varied role and would suit somebody who enjoys marketing, writing, websites and generally making sure a business looks professional and up to date online.

The role will include:

  • Helping us respond to customer reviews across Google and TripAdvisor
  • Keeping our Google Business profiles and TripAdvisor listings accurate and up to date
  • Updating website imagery and making minor changes to our WordPress websites
  • Writing and publishing blog posts
  • Creating and sending email marketing campaigns
  • Assisting with Mailchimp and maintaining our customer email marketing
  • Adding and updating menus, events, offers and other information across our online platforms
  • Learning our restaurant booking and customer systems
  • Helping input new products, menus and promotions
  • Supporting the marketing and online presence of our podcast
  • Generally helping make sure everything customers see online is current, professional and consistent

Who are we looking for?

Ideally, somebody who:

  • Has previous experience working in marketing, digital marketing or a similar role
  • Has experience using Mailchimp
  • Has experience with WordPress
  • Is confident with technology and happy learning new systems
  • Has strong written English and can adapt their writing style to different businesses
  • Is organised and comfortable working independently
  • Has a good eye for detail, branding and presentation
  • Can take an idea and turn it into a finished email, blog post, website update or piece of marketing
  • Is proactive and can spot things that need updating rather than always waiting to be asked

You don't need to be an expert in every system we use. We're much more interested in finding somebody who is good with technology, understands marketing and is willing to learn.

The role

This will initially be two days per week, based on site in Gainsborough, working closely with the business owner and management team.

There is plenty of scope for the role to develop and potentially increase in hours as we bring more of our marketing, websites, customer communication and digital work together.

You'll be working across a group of busy, independent local businesses, so no two weeks are likely to be exactly the same.

Pay: £13.50 per hour

Application question(s):

  • Please give a brief description of where your previous experience would benefit this role.

Highlight any experience with blog posting and email marketing please as these are a large part of the job.

Work Location: In person
