Digital Brand & Marketing Manager

Devall & Son Family Funeral Directors

At Devall & Son, we are not a typical funeral director.

We are a family-run business built on reputation, presentation, and high standards. Our focus is on delivering meaningful, attended funerals while continuing to modernise how our profession is seen and experienced.

We are now looking for a Digital Brand & Marketing Manager to take full ownership of our marketing, content, and digital presence.

This is not a basic social media role.

This is an opportunity to take control of a respected local brand and elevate it into a market-leading digital presence.

The Role

You will be responsible for the development, protection, and growth of the Devall & Son brand across all platforms.

You will manage and execute all marketing activity, create high-quality visual content, and ensure our business is presented at the highest possible standard both online and offline.

You will work directly with the directors and play a key role in shaping how the business is seen by the public.

Key Responsibilities

Brand & Identity

  • Maintain and elevate the Devall & Son brand across all touchpoints
  • Ensure consistency across digital, print, and physical environments
  • Support the rollout of new branding, campaigns, and materials

Digital & Website Ownership

  • Manage and update the company website
  • Improve SEO performance across key locations (Nuneaton, Coventry, surrounding areas)
  • Create and publish blogs and landing pages
  • Monitor website performance and enquiries

Content Creation

  • Produce high-quality photography and video content
  • Plan and execute content shoots across funerals (where appropriate), fleet, premises, and community events
  • Edit and produce content suitable for social media, website and campaigns

Social Media Management

  • Manage all social media platforms
  • Plan, create, and publish content
  • Engage with the local community in a professional and sensitive manner
  • Grow reach, engagement, and brand presence

Campaign Management

  • Plan and execute marketing campaigns across:
  • Funeral services
  • Headstones & memorials
  • Memorial jewellery
  • Funeral plans
  • Direct cremation offering
  • Manage paid advertising across Google, Facebook, Instagram and other platforms
  • Track and optimise campaign performance

Funeral Service Media

  • Create digital visual tributes for funeral services
  • Support families with visual and media elements where required
  • Ensure all client-facing media is produced to a high, respectful standard

Reputation & Community

  • Support review generation and management
  • Assist with community campaigns, events and partnerships
  • Maintain a strong, respectful and trusted public presence

Reporting & Performance

  • Provide monthly reports to directors covering:
  • Enquiries and lead sources
  • Website traffic
  • Campaign performance
  • Social media growth
  • Recommend clear actions based on results

What We Are Looking For

Essential

  • Proven experience in marketing, content creation or brand management
  • Strong photography and videography skills
  • High-level editing ability (Adobe Suite, Final Cut, or similar)
  • Experience managing social media platforms professionally
  • Experience running paid ad campaigns
  • Strong copywriting skills
  • Good understanding of SEO and website content
  • Highly organised and self-sufficient
  • Strong emotional intelligence and judgement

Desirable

  • Experience in a premium, service-led or sensitive industry
  • Experience with Google Business Profile and local SEO
  • Experience with email marketing or CRM systems
  • Drone filming experience
  • Experience managing external suppliers (designers, printers, agencies)
