Full job description

Marketing Manager - Pro-acative and in a fast-paced environment

Remote, with monthly travel to UK events and meetings in London

We are a UK training and education business. We run live and virtual events, sell a high-value programme off the back of them and we spend serious money on paid advertising every month to fill those events.

We have a marketing department made up of specialists: paid media buyers, copywriters, designers, videographers, a web and landing page team and a CRM and automation team. They are good at what they do. What is missing is one person who holds the whole thing together, keeps everyone to deadline, and makes sure campaigns launch on the day they are supposed to launch.

That is this role.

What you will actually do:

  • Own the marketing calendar: every event, every campaign, every launch date, working backwards from the date to the deadlines
  • Brief and chase the specialists: ads, copy, design, video, landing pages, email, CRM, social and hold them to agreed dates
  • Make sure every campaign has all its parts ready before it goes live: registration page, tracking, ad creative, ad copy, email sequences, WhatsApp and SMS reminders, confirmation journeys
  • Check the detail before anything goes out. Wrong date on a landing page, broken link, untracked page, missing UTM - these are the errors that cost real money here and catching them is the job
  • Run daily and weekly marketing reports: spend, cost per registration, registrations, show-up rate, campaign status, what is late and why
  • Present those reports to the Managing Director and be able to explain the numbers, not just repeat them
  • Manage the social media output across all platforms and make sure it is joined up with what the paid campaigns are doing
  • Keep every marketing asset, login and process documented so nothing sits in one person's head

Who we are looking for

  • Someone who has coordinated multiple freelancers or agencies to a deadline and enjoys it. You are comfortable telling a supplier their work is late
  • Ferocious attention to detail. If typos and broken links do not bother you, this will not work
  • Genuinely current on social media, not what used to work. You should be able to tell us what changed on the main platforms in the last six months
  • Technologically confident. You will be in a CRM daily, checking tracking, reading dashboards, building simple automations, testing funnels end to end. You do not need to be a developer, but you must not be afraid of software
  • Direct response instincts. We care about registrations and cost per sale, not impressions and engagement

One thing to be clear about

You will have AI tools available and we expect you to use them. What we do not want is someone who has AI do their thinking for them. If you cannot look at a set of numbers and form your own view, or write a clear brief in your own words, this is not the role for you.

Direction comes from the owner

Campaign strategy, offer and positioning are already decided. Your job is to make it happen - on time, to standard, with nothing missed. However, your ideas and suggestions will be listened to.

Pay: £48,000.00-£60,000.00 per year
