About the Role:

We’re looking for a Polymer Laboratory Technician to join our Innovation team in Croydon. You’ll play a key role in carrying out materials testing, supporting method development and helping us understand how our polymer materials perform across different applications.

This is a hands-on lab role where you’ll generate high-quality data, interpret results and work closely with engineers and technical teams to support product development and process improvement.


Role Responsibilities:

  • Carry out materials testing using laboratory equipment, ensuring accurate and timely reporting of results

  • Generate high-quality analytical data to support product development and process optimisation

  • Interpret test results and present findings clearly to support decision-making

  • Work from technical specifications and test requirements, ensuring testing is aligned to business needs

  • Support development and improvement of laboratory test methods

  • Act as a point of support or trainer for laboratory equipment where required

  • Ensure full compliance with health and safety standards, including COSHH and risk assessments

  • Support the creation and maintenance of operating procedures and lab documentation

  • Identify opportunities to improve testing methods, lab efficiency and data quality

  • Contribute to technical discussions and continuous improvement initiatives

  • Support wider team activities and training as required

What you'll need:

  • Degree, HNC/HND or equivalent in Materials Science, Chemistry, Polymer Engineering or a related discipline, or relevant laboratory experience

  • Experience working in a laboratory environment, ideally in materials testing or product development

  • Understanding of analytical testing methods and laboratory best practice

  • Knowledge of polymers or materials science
