About Us

At VAK Systems, we specialise in the installation, service and maintenance of material handling systems throughout the UK. Our work includes silo cleaning, mechanical maintenance, breakdown support and the delivery of bespoke turnkey engineering projects for customers across a wide range of industries.

Due to continued growth, we are looking for a motivated Mechanical Installation & Service Engineer to join our friendly and expanding team.

The Role

This is a hands-on role involving nationwide travel, working both independently and as part of a team. You will assist with and carry out the installation, servicing, maintenance and repair of material handling equipment and associated systems at customer sites throughout the UK.

Typical duties include:

  • Mechanical installation of conveyors, silos, Pipework and material handling equipment.
  • Planned preventative maintenance and servicing.
  • Fault finding and repair of mechanical systems.
  • Silo cleaning on occasion and inspection works.
  • Working from engineering drawings and site plans.
  • Supporting the delivery of bespoke turnkey engineering projects.
  • Ensuring all work is completed safely and to a high standard.
  • Communicating professionally with customers and site personnel.

What We're Looking For

Essential:

  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Mechanical engineering, maintenance or installation experience.
  • Competent using hand and power tools.
  • Good understanding of health and safety requirements.
  • Strong work ethic and positive attitude.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Willingness to travel nationwide and stay away from home when required.
  • Flexibility to work overtime to meet customer and project requirements.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings.

Desirable:

  • Experience working on material handling systems, conveyors, silos or industrial equipment.
  • CSCS, IPAF or PASMA certification.
  • Welding and fabrication experience.
  • Pipe work Installation
