Overview

Land and Utility are looking for two keen Engineering students to undertake survey work on energy infrastructure. The work is being undertaken on behalf of a major UK Utility and will require regular travel across Scotland.

The position is Intended as a summer placement, but week end working would be available during term time.

This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience of real engineering problems first hand. Land and utility are one of the leading experts in the growing field of climate change resilience helping to ensure that Scotland’s energy needs are met.

The position is best suited for engineering students specialising in mechanical or civil engineering, but other disciplines will be considered.

A full clean UK drivers’ licence is essential for this work.

What you will be doing.

As part of a two-person team conducting surveys of river crossings.

Learning from experienced engineers and ground works experts.

Helping to fight the effects of climate change on the UK’s energy infrastructure.

What we are looking for

A keen Engineering student (Mechanical or Civil preferred) eager to gain experience of real-life engineering problems.

A willingness to travel across Scotland, possibly staying away from home.

Happy to work outdoors and to walk extended distances up to 5km across rough ground.

A good attention to detail.

Able to work in a team.

A full UK driving licence.

Pay: From £16.00 per hour
