Practice Accountant

Location: Leeds, West Yorkshire

Salary: Competitive, depending on qualifications and experience

About the Employer

We are an established independent Accountancy Practice based in Leeds, providing accountancy, taxation and business advisory services to owner-managed businesses and individuals for over 40 years.

We are looking to recruit an experienced Practice Accountant to join our friendly and professional team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working closely with clients, takes pride in producing high-quality work and is looking to develop their career within a well-established independent practice.

The Role

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Preparation of year-end accounts
  • Corporation Tax returns
  • Self Assessment Tax Returns
  • VAT returns
  • Bookkeeping
  • Management accounts
  • Liaising directly with clients
  • General accountancy practice work

The role will develop according to your experience, qualifications and ability.

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Previous experience working within an accountancy practice (essential)
  • Excellent Microsoft Excel skills (essential)
  • AAT qualified, ACCA/ACA part-qualified, qualified or qualified by experience
  • Experience using IRIS, Xero, Sage or QuickBooks
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • The ability to work independently and manage a varied workload
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • A professional and positive approach to client service
