Job Summary

Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking an exceptional Finance Business Partner to join our Financial Management team.

This is a senior and influential role, working closely with clinical and operational leaders to provide expert financial advice, strengthen financial performance and support the delivery of high-quality patient care. You will help leaders understand their financial position, identify risks and opportunities, develop robust plans and make informed decisions about the services they provide. We are looking for a fully qualified accountant who combines strong technical expertise and analytical insight with an inclusive and collaborative approach. You will be confident working with complex financial and activity information and able to communicate clearly with finance and non-finance colleagues.

You will support the Assistant Director of Finance in leading and developing a team of accountants and finance professionals, creating an environment where colleagues feel supported, empowered and able to perform at their best. Working in partnership with Clinical Service Units (CSUs) and corporate services, you will ensure that financial reporting, forecasting, planning and advice are delivered consistently, accurately and to a high standard.

What you will bring to the role

To succeed in this role, you will be a fully qualified CCAB accountant with extensive financial management experience and highly developed knowledge of accounting concepts, policies, procedures and financial systems.

You will have experience of budget setting, forecasting, management reporting and providing detailed financial advice to senior management teams. Experience of managing and developing staff, delivering finance training and leading projects involving a range of stakeholders is also essential.

You will be able to analyse and interpret highly complex information, compare different options and provide clear, evidence based recommendations. You will communicate confidently with colleagues at all levels, including senior managers, clinicians and directors, and will be able to influence, negotiate and respond constructively where priorities or views conflict.
