We’re looking for an ambitious and proactive Clinic Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of our growing clinic and help shape an outstanding experience for both patients and staff.

Sussex Medical Chambers is a leading provider of independent healthcare and medical services in East and West Sussex. We offer a comprehensive range of private healthcare services, such as diagnostic services, digestive health, orthopaedics, women’s health, urology, GP services, as well as delivering community services on behalf of the NHS. Established in 2006, Sussex Medical Chambers is built on a commitment to exceptional patient care, clinical expertise, and ongoing investment in people and facilities.

Purpose of the role

The Clinic Manager is responsible for the overall day-to-day operations and success of the clinic, ensuring efficient workflows, high-quality patient care, staff performance, regulatory compliance, and financial performance. This role serves as the bridge between clinical staff, administrative teams, and leadership. Working hours are 40 per week, usually worked from Monday to Saturday. Working hours will vary to meet the service needs and to suit clinic opening times.

What you’ll be doing

  • Oversee daily clinic operations to ensure smooth, efficient patient flow.
  • Develop and implement operational policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Monitor clinic scheduling, capacity, and resource utilization and maximisation.
  • Manage and maintain facilities, equipment, and vendor relationships.
  • Participate in recruiting, onboarding, scheduling, training, and supervision of administrative and support staff.
  • Foster a positive team culture focused on transparency, collaboration and patient-centered care.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and support staff development.
  • Address staff issues and ensure compliance with HR policies.
  • Ensure excellent patient service and satisfaction.
  • Handle patient concerns, complaints, and escalations.
  • Maintain a welcoming, professional clinic environment.
  • Monitor budgets, expenses, and revenue performance.
  • Oversee billing, coding, collections, and insurance processes (as applicable).
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and profitability.
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, licensing, and accreditation standards.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation.
  • Support quality improvement initiatives and audits.
  • Act as primary point of contact between providers, staff, and leadership.
  • Prepare reports on operations, staffing, and performance metrics.
  • Support strategic planning and growth initiatives.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, business, or related field (preferred).
  • Experience in healthcare operations or clinic management – advantageous.
  • Knowledge of healthcare regulations and administrative workflows.
  • Deep understanding of care standards, safeguarding procedures, and health and safety legislation.
  • Familiarity with medical billing and insurance processes (preferred).
  • Excellent written and spoken English – required.
  • Excellent IT skills and high proficiency in computer systems, including MS Office and healthcare management systems or similar.
