Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora are seeking Radiation Oncologists and Medical Oncologists from the United Kingdom to join multidisciplinary public cancer services across New Zealand. Deliver high-quality cancer care within collaborative, patient centred hospital teams, working across modern oncology services that combine advanced treatment technology with a uniquely integrated public health system.

About the opportunities

Medical Oncologists and Radiation Oncologists with Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora provide specialist cancer care within multidisciplinary hospital teams across New Zealand. You will contribute to outpatient clinics, inpatient care, and multidisciplinary tumour boards, while delivering specialist cancer treatments within your scope of practice (systemic therapies or radiotherapy). You will also play an active role in service planning, clinical governance, and research initiatives where available, working collaboratively to deliver high-quality, patient-centred cancer care.

Salary, benefits and leave

Salary:

• The average salary package for Oncologists in New Zealand is GBP ~£150,521 (NZ $343,500)
• Packages are comprised of a base salary based on experience, plus allowances, and superannuation per the ASMS collective agreement

• an annual continuing medical education (CME) allowance of GBP ~£7,011 (NZD $16,000)

Leave

What you need to work here

You will need registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand (MCNZ) and an Annual Practising Certificate (APC).

International Medical Oncologists will typically hold a qualification comparable to the Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP).

International Radiation Oncologists will typically hold a qualification comparable to the Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiology (FRANZCR).

If you hold a recognised UK or Irish primary medical qualification, you are likely eligible for MCNZ registration via the Competent Authority pathway.
