We're building a different experience, starting with women's healthcare and contraception.
We're looking for an experienced Pharmacist Independent Prescriber to help establish Kara's first women's health service, working alongside our pharmacy partners.
The opportunity
This is an early-stage, flexible role for a clinician who believes healthcare can be both clinically excellent and genuinely convenient.
You'll provide remote consultations, initially focused on emergency contraception, while helping us develop a safe, thoughtful and patient-centred care experience.
Your clinical judgement and feedback will help shape how Kara's services develop.
What you'll do
- Conduct remote consultations for emergency contraception.
- Make independent prescribing decisions within your competence and agreed clinical scope.
- Provide appropriate counselling, safeguarding, safety-netting and referrals.
- Maintain accurate clinical records.
- Work with our pharmacy partner to support safe fulfilment.
- Share feedback to improve the patient experience and clinical pathway.
What we're looking for
- GPhC registration with Independent Prescriber annotation.
- Relevant experience in contraception or sexual and reproductive health.
- Confidence delivering remote consultations.
- Strong clinical judgement and safeguarding awareness.
- Appropriate professional indemnity.
- A clear, empathetic and non-judgemental approach.
How it works
This is a flexible, per-consultation arrangement designed to work alongside existing commitments.
Initial patient volumes are expected to be modest, with no guaranteed minimum number of cases.
Payment is made per completed clinical assessment, regardless of whether a prescription is issued. The fee will be agreed before engagement.
You'll be joining at an early stage, with the opportunity to contribute directly to the development of Kara's women's healthcare services.
