Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and committed Trainee Social Services & health care SVQ Assessor to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who is developing their career in assessment and vocational education and is keen to gain experience while supporting learners through their SVQ qualifications. The successful candidate will receive guidance and support as they build their assessor skills, while playing an active role in learner development.

Duties
Support the assessment of learners in line with relevant SVQ standards, under guidance where required, ensuring assessment criteria are met.
Provide clear and constructive feedback to learners to help them recognise strengths and identify areas for development.
Assist in developing and maintaining individual assessment plans tailored to learner needs.
Support learners to understand best practice within their role and qualification area, helping to create a positive and encouraging learning environment.
Work closely with colleagues to ensure consistency, quality, and fairness in assessment practices.
Maintain accurate and up to date records of learner progress in line with organisational policies and awarding body requirements.
Engage in training and continuous professional development to build assessor competence and keep knowledge current.

Experience and Requirements
Minimum SVQ Level 3 in health and social care is essential.
SVQ Level 4 is desirable but not essential.
An interest in assessment, training, or learner development.
Good communication skills, with the ability to build positive, supportive relationships with learners.
A willingness to learn the SVQ framework and assessment processes.
A positive attitude, strong organisation skills, and a commitment to personal development.
