SLR is a global leader in sustainability solutions, working with clients to help make sustainability happen, within a collaborative, people-first culture.

Due to continued growth, we are seeking a motivated and reliable Laboratory Technician (Fixed Term Contract) to join our established Mineral Processing Laboratory team , delivering high-profile metallurgical testing projects within one of Europe’s leading facilities.

Based in Truro the role will focus primarily on supporting laboratory-based mineral processing testwork and sample preparation , with additional exposure to metallurgical testing and analysis processes , as well as a range of work supporting mining, industrial and resource sector projects.

This is a 6-month fixed term contract working alternating shifts (06:30–14:30 and 11:30–19:30). Please note the site is not easily accessible by public transport, so commuting should be considered before applying.

The Role

You’ll support the delivery of metallurgical testing programmes, working closely with laboratory and metallurgical teams. The role includes:

  • Sample preparation in line with laboratory standards and testing requirements
  • Following written procedures and standard operating instructions
  • Conducting basic standardised laboratory tests independently
  • Supporting metallurgists and wider technical teams with ongoing work
  • General laboratory duties, including cleaning, maintenance and calibration of equipment
  • Ensuring compliance with health, safety and environmental standards, including SSOW and COSHH

You’ll collaborate with colleagues across laboratory and technical teams, gaining hands-on experience in a high-quality testing environment.

About You

You’ll bring:
