Full job description

Registered Nurse (Days & Nights)

Location: Weston-super-Mare

Salary: £35,000.00 – £45,000.00 per annum (pro rata for part-time employees). Salary dependent on shift pattern and unsocial hours.

Contract: Permanent

Hours: Full-time (37.5 hours) or part-time opportunities available (25 or 12.5 hours)

Shift Pattern: This role includes a rota of both day and night shifts. Applicants must be able to work a mixture of shift patterns to meet the needs of the service.

Typical shift patterns:

  • Long Day: 07:45am - 20:15pm
  • Night: 19:45pm - 08:15am
  • Day Shift: 07:45am –14:00pm
  • Mid Shift: 13:30pm –20:15pm

We are currently seeking a qualified, enthusiastic, and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our dedicated clinical team in Weston-super-Mare. This is a rewarding opportunity to support clients through detoxification and rehabilitation while helping them on their recovery journey as part of a specialist multidisciplinary team.

This post forms part of a rota that includes both day and night shifts. We are therefore looking for someone who is flexible and able to work a combination of shift patterns to meet the needs of the service.

Broadway Lodge is one of the few treatment centres in the UK with specialist nurses on site day and night. This means there is always someone available for our clients should they experience a medical issue or simply need support. Our clinical team includes experienced psychiatrists, nurse prescribers, specialist nurses, and healthcare assistants.

As a member of our team, you will provide the kind of care and support you would want for your own family while building meaningful relationships with remarkable individuals during an important stage of their recovery journey.

This role is ideal for a nurse who is passionate about delivering high-quality care and looking to use their clinical skills in a different and rewarding environment. Clinical Responsibilities

You will:

  • Create a compassionate environment by providing physical, emotional, and psychological support to clients
  • Administer medications and support clients through detoxification programmes, ensuring the medical team are kept informed of progress and all care is delivered in line with policies and procedures
  • Undertake and accurately record clinical observations
  • Observe and assess clients’ physical, emotional, behavioural, and mental wellbeing
  • Identify and prioritise individual nursing care needs
  • Promote health and wellbeing to clients
  • Work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team, maintaining effective communication across internal departments and external services
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive nursing records in line with NMC standards
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment, adhering to procedures and regulations
  • Carry out duties as requested by the Registered Manager, Nursing Team Lead, or Clinical Lead
  • Act as Fire Officer in accordance with Broadway Lodge procedures
  • Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of treatment protocols and procedures

Experience and Skills

We are looking for someone with:

  • RGN or RMN qualification
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to put others at ease
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise effectively
  • A collaborative team approach
  • A person-centred approach to care
  • Flexible and able to work a rota that includes both day and night shifts
