Full job description

Due to continued growth, our leading RI Broking client is looking to recruit more experienced Reinsurance Technicians to join their expanding teams.

These are end-to end Technical processing roles incorporating Treaty, Excess of Loss, Claims and IBA functions.

You’ll be working with other experienced Technicians in high performing and collaborative teams and dealing with a range of risks across many disciplines.

Accordingly this is also an opportunity to develop your knowledge and experience as training is provided for classes of business you want to develop into.

The main responsibilities of the RI Technician role includes:

  • End to end Technical processing, incorporating: Premium, Pro Rata, Excess of Loss and Claims
  • Conversing with Clients and Carriers on a technical level
  • Negotiating claims through to the settlement and closure of claims
  • Letter of Credit, completing adjustments pro-actively and in the time frames required
  • Reviewing Aged Debt reports, chasing for due items and arranging settlement
  • Participating in Client and Reinsurer meetings as required

To be a successful RI Technician you will demonstrate:

  • Relevant Reinsurance experience in Processing or Claims
  • Experience in at least one of the following risk types – Proportional or Excess of Loss - with the interest to learn more and work towards a wider role
  • Excellent technical knowledge of the Lloyd’s and or Company Reinsurance market
  • Ability to prioritise and ensure that deadlines are met without compromising quality
  • Professional negotiation and persuasion skills
  • Proven problem-solving skills, including the ability to resolve complex issues.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally both verbally and in writing with Clients and Insurers
  • Knowledge of IMR, CLASS, ECF, LORS
