Locum Clinical Coder - GP Practice

Location: BB5, Lancashire
Job Type: Locum
Duration: Immediate start through to December 2026, with potential extension into 2027
Hours: Monday to Friday, 5 days per week
Shifts: 08:30 - 16:30 or 09:30 - 17:30
Work Pattern: On-site only

About the Role

We are currently seeking an experienced Clinical Coder to provide support within a busy GP Practice in the BB5 area of Lancashire. This is a full-time locum opportunity, working on-site, Monday to Friday, with an immediate start available.

The successful candidate will be responsible for accurately reviewing and coding patient records, ensuring data quality and compliance with practice standards.

Requirements

  • Previous Clinical Coding experience within General Practice
  • Strong knowledge and experience using EMIS Web
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Understanding of medical terminology and clinical documentation
  • Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
  • Available to work on-site, 5 days per week

Responsibilities

  • Clinical coding of patient records and correspondence
  • Reviewing hospital letters and clinical documents
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient records
  • Supporting data quality initiatives within the practice
  • Ensuring coding is completed in line with NHS and practice guidelines
