Job Summary

Imediate Start. Flexible 4 hours per week hours to suit you. Free parking. On site in person work. Must be experienced in Legal Medical Negligence in the NHS. Live in or near Brighton. We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Legal Secretary with proven experience in NHS medical negligence cases. One session per week flexible hours, 6 months . This vital role involves supporting legal teams by managing case files, preparing documentation, and ensuring smooth administrative operations within a busy legal environment. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, be proficient in audio typing, and have a strong understanding of NHS medical negligence procedures. Your proactive approach will contribute to delivering exceptional legal support and maintaining the efficiency of our practice.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive administrative support to legal professionals handling NHS medical negligence claims.
  • Manage and organize case files, ensuring all documentation is accurate, complete, and up-to-date.
  • Prepare legal documents, correspondence, and reports using audio typing and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Schedule appointments, court dates, and meetings while coordinating with clients and external agencies.
  • Draft and proofread legal correspondence with precision and clarity.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information in accordance with data protection regulations.
  • Assist with the preparation of trial bundles, evidence bundles, and other litigation documents as required.

Skills

  • Proven experience as a Legal Secretary specializing in NHS medical negligence cases or similar healthcare law fields.
  • Excellent audio typing skills with high accuracy and speed.
  • Strong administrative experience with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook).
  • Exceptional communication skills to liaise effectively with clients, legal teams, and external parties.
  • Well-developed organizational skills to manage multiple priorities efficiently.
  • Good IT knowledge to navigate various legal software systems confidently.
  • Effective time management skills to meet deadlines consistently under pressure.
