About the Role

As Director of Therapeutic and Clinical Services, you will play a key strategic leadership role in shaping and delivering our clinical and therapeutic approach across National Fostering Group. You will lead the next phase of The NFG Way, embedding trauma-aware and clinically informed practice throughout our services to improve outcomes for children and young people, strengthen foster family resilience and respond to increasingly complex needs.

Working closely with senior leaders, clinical and therapeutic teams, foster carers and external partners, you will drive the development of our therapeutic services, ensuring specialist clinical expertise informs everyday care and practice. You will provide strategic oversight of clinical quality, governance and safeguarding, lead service improvement initiatives and strengthen relationships with Local Authorities and commissioners. Through a focus on evidence-based practice, collaboration and continuous improvement, you will help shape a consistent and effective therapeutic approach across the Group.

Who we are looking for

We are looking for an experienced and forward-thinking clinical leader with a strong background in children's therapeutic or mental health services and a passion for improving outcomes for children and young people. You will have significant senior leadership experience, alongside a thorough understanding of trauma, attachment and the complexities of supporting children with additional needs.

You will have a proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams, influence senior stakeholders and translate clinical expertise into practical, meaningful improvements. With excellent communication and relationship-building skills, you will be confident driving strategic change, developing services and embedding therapeutic approaches across a large and diverse organisation.

You will hold a relevant clinical or therapeutic qualification, with professional registration where applicable, and be willing to travel regularly across the UK as required.
