About us:

- Friendly, forward-thinking GP practice delivering high-quality care within a safe and efficient working environment

- Main surgery in Dorking and two dispensing branches in Box Hill and Westcott serving a total of 11,300 patients

- Open Monday to Friday, with no weekend working

- Dispenser / Patient Services Advisor

- Full time

Job description:

You will work with our dispensing team at Riverbank Surgery (Westcott) and Hillside Surgery (Box Hill), and on our reception desks at New House Surgery (Dorking). Duties include, but are not limited to:

Essential

-NVQ level 2 in Pharmacy Services/Dispensing (or equivalent)

-Previous experience in a dispensing or pharmacy role

-Strong organisational and time management skills

-Accuracy and attention to details

-Excellent communication skills

-Ability to work well in a team and independently

-Commitment to patient confidentiality and safeguarding

Desirable

- To be responsible for checking all medicines dispensed under the supervision of a dispensing GP

- Ensuring all prescriptions are labelled accurately

- Collecting prescription charges in accordance with dispensary protocol

- Maintaining stock levels within the dispensary

- Receiving and storing supplies in accordance with current policy, ensuring the cold chain is maintained where applicable

- Interacting with our patients in person, via telephone and via our website

- Booking appointments, issuing repeat prescriptions, and managing administrative tasks.

- Working autonomously but also as part of a team

- Excellent computer skills are essential and you will need your own transport.

You will act as a point of contact for patients, the distribution of information, messages and enquiries for the clinical team, liaising with multi-disciplinary team members and external agencies such as secondary care and community service providers.
