Job purpose:
As part of our continued growth, we are recruiting a Behaviour Change Specialist: Adult Weight Management to join the expanding Morelife UK team. About the Role
We’re looking for a passionate and dynamic practitioner to deliver our adult behavioural change weight‑management programme. In this role, you’ll empower adults to improve their health through sustainable lifestyle changes—supporting them to eat well, move more, and reduce alcohol intake where needed. Most of your time will be spent leading face‑to‑face group sessions, creating a motivating and inclusive environment where individuals feel supported to achieve meaningful, long‑term results.
You’ll use evidence‑based coaching techniques, including motivational interviewing and CBT‑informed strategies, to help participants overcome barriers and build healthier habits. Alongside group delivery, you’ll provide one‑to‑one health coaching, maintain accurate records, and work closely with community partners to ensure the ongoing success of the service.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead engaging group sessions to support adults in achieving sustainable weight loss.
- Deliver a multi‑component programme using action‑focused, interactive learning.
- Facilitate sessions on physical activity, nutrition, and healthy lifestyle behaviours.
- Support participants to set realistic goals and achieve positive health outcomes.
- Create inclusive, motivating, and enjoyable group experiences.
- Maintain regular communication with participants, including follow‑ups and drop‑ins
- Build relationships with stakeholders, referrers, and community partners.
- Provide sensitive, person‑centred support and signpost additional services when needed.
- Conduct anthropometric measurements and support the assessment process.
- Deliver one‑to‑one health coaching on physical activity, diet, and alcohol reduction.
- Accurately record data, analysis and reporting to support continuous improvement.
- Work towards agreed performance targets and KPI expectations.
- Adhere to safeguarding, organisational policies, and best‑practice procedures.
- Contribute to service‑user feedback collection and programme development.
About You
You’re someone who genuinely cares about helping people live healthier, happier lives. You bring energy, empathy, and confidence to group settings, and you’re skilled at motivating individuals to make meaningful lifestyle changes. You’re organised, proactive, and able to build strong, trusting relationships with participants from all backgrounds.
Essential skills and experience include:
- A degree (or equivalent) in Nutrition, Dietetics, Health Promotion, Education, Psychology, Physical Education, Sport & Exercise, or a related field.
- Working with Adults would be preferred.
- Experience coaching individuals and facilitating groups.
- Previous experience using psychological coaching strategies such as motivational interviewing, goal‑setting and CBT‑based techniques.
