* Experienced Female Carers for supported Accommodation of Young adults 16-24 year old.

We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Support Workers to provide care and assistance within semi-independent accommodation for young adults. This role involves supporting individuals in developing life skills, promoting independence, and ensuring their wellbeing in a safe and nurturing environment. As a Support worker for young adults, you'll provide person-centred care and support to adults with learning disabilities, promoting their wellbeing, independence and dignity. Working within our values-based approach, you'll help residents develop their potential while maintaining their individuality and rights..

Duties

  • Provide personalised support to young adults in their daily routines, including assistance with personal care, meal preparation, and household tasks
  • Support individuals with medication administration and health monitoring as required
  • Assist with behaviour management strategies to promote positive social interactions and emotional wellbeing
  • Facilitate activities that encourage independence, life skills development, and community engagement
  • Drive clients to appointments, activities, or outings using company vehicles where necessary
  • Maintain accurate records of support provided and progress made
  • Respond promptly to any emergencies or health concerns using first aid skills when necessary
  • Foster a supportive environment that respects individual choices and promotes dignity

What You'll Do:

  • Support and encourage young people to reach their full potential.
  • Create a warm, safe and tidy home environment that promotes wellbeing.
  • Build trust whilst maintaining professional boundaries.
  • Empower young people to develop skills such as cooking, travel, and self-care.
  • Support care planning - contribute to risk assessments, positive behaviour plans, and individual goals.
  • Keep accurate, reflective records and complete effective shift handovers.
  • Administer medication, manage petty cash responsibly and ensure safety checks are completed.
  • Drive company vehicles to transport young people to school, appointments, and activities.
  • Work collaboratively with your team, attend meetings and training, and follow safeguarding procedures at all times.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to build trusting relationships with young adults
  • Flexibility to work shifts that may include evenings or weekends as needed (though primarily during standard hours)

Teamwork

  • Work collaboratively with Care Support Staff, Senior Staff, and Deputy Managers
  • Contribute positively to the wider residential and site team

Maintaining a Homely Environment

  • Help ensure the home is clean, safe, and welcoming

Health & Safety

  • Follow all health and safety policies and procedures
  • Respond appropriately to emergencies such as medical incidents, fire, or missing persons
  • Support infection prevention and control measures

Administration

  • Maintain clear and accurate records and reports
  • Attend relevant meetings such as team meetings and resident meetings
  • Maintain confidentiality and GDPR compliance

Personal Development

  • Participate in training and ongoing professional development
  • Maintain competency in the role and engage in reflective practice
  • Carry out cleaning duties in communal areas and resident rooms as required
  • Support improvements to the home environment in line with resident preferences
