Consultant Neurologist (Pain Specialist) – Medical Cannabis Prescriber

Location: Remote / UK-Wide

Salary: Up to £300,000 per annum (subject to experience, availability and patient volume)

About CannaReleaf

CannaReleaf is a specialist UK medical cannabis clinic dedicated to providing safe, evidence-based access to Cannabis-Based Products for Medicinal Use (CBPMs). We support patients suffering from chronic pain, neurological conditions and other qualifying conditions where conventional treatments have proven ineffective or poorly tolerated.

Due to rapid growth, we are seeking an experienced Consultant Neurologist with a strong interest in pain management to join our expanding specialist team.

The Opportunity

This is a unique opportunity for a GMC Specialist Register Neurologist to become a key member of a fast-growing medical cannabis service. The successful candidate will assess, diagnose and manage patients suffering from chronic pain and neurological disorders and prescribe medical cannabis where clinically appropriate.

The role offers exceptional flexibility, full administrative support, remote working and the opportunity to earn up to £300,000 per year.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct specialist neurological and chronic pain consultations.
  • Assess patients for suitability for CBPM treatment.
  • Prescribe medical cannabis in accordance with UK regulations and clinical guidance.
  • Review and monitor treatment outcomes.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary discussions where required.
  • Maintain accurate and compliant clinical records.
  • Provide high-quality patient-centred care through remote consultations.

Essential Requirements

  • GMC registration with licence to practise.
  • Entry on the GMC Specialist Register in Neurology.
  • Significant experience managing chronic pain patients.
  • Independent prescribing qualification.
  • Medical indemnity insurance.
  • Excellent communication and consultation skills.
  • Comfortable conducting remote video consultations.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Experience within a Pain Management Service.
  • Additional qualifications in Pain Medicine.
  • Previous experience prescribing medical cannabis.
  • Experience working within a multidisciplinary clinic environment.
