Overview
We are seeking a reliable and professional Courier to join our logistics team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering goods efficiently and safely across designated routes. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a passion for driving and delivering exceptional service. A valid driver’s licence is essential, along with the necessary Right to Work documentation for the UK. The position involves navigating urban and rural areas, ensuring timely deliveries, and maintaining excellent communication with clients and team members.

Duties

  • Plan efficient routes to meet delivery schedules and optimise time management
  • Load and unload items, often involving heavy lifting, ensuring items are secured properly during transit
  • Verify delivery details and obtain necessary signatures or proof of delivery
  • Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including mileage, fuel consumption, and delivery times
  • Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients regarding delivery status or any issues encountered
  • Conduct routine vehicle inspections to ensure safety standards are met and report any maintenance needs
  • Follow all traffic laws and company policies to ensure safety during all operations

Requirements

  • Valid driver’s licence with a clean driving record
  • Experience in warehouse handling or logistics is advantageous
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting when required, often involving parcels or equipment of substantial weight
  • Excellent communication skills to interact professionally with clients and team members
  • Organised with strong time management skills to adhere to tight schedules
  • Ability to work independently, demonstrating reliability and responsibility during all deliveries
