Compliance Adviser

Home working, Full Time


The MDU is a membership organisation providing over 200,000 individual and corporate medical and dental members with both core benefits of membership and an evolving range of additional benefits/services.

MDU members have an organisational or individual responsibility to comply with (and demonstrate compliance with) a plethora of healthcare regulatory requirements, including maintaining registration with the CQC as the health service regulator. They need a range of guidance and support to meet their obligations.

To ensure we remain the leading provider of professional services for members, we want to broaden the regulatory compliance knowledge, skills and experience within our Professional Services teams.

The postholder will be responsible for providing support and advising members about regulatory compliance.


KEY ACTIVITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Provide expert advisory support to our members in relation to CQC registrations, regulatory standards and the inspection framework to ensure inspection readiness.
  • Support colleagues in maintaining a suite of regulatory compliance documents.
  • Guide and support medical and/or dental practices with preparing for a CQC inspection via mock on/off site inspections, identifying shortfalls and driving continuous improvement.
  • Support members with crisis management, action plan requests and regulatory enforcement.
  • Provide subject matter expertise to the Professional Services teams and wider business regarding regulatory compliance matters that are relevant to our members.
  • Build relations and engage regularly with external regulator stakeholders, including the CQC, to keep abreast of anticipated regulatory developments and liaise as required on any sensitive issues.
  • Build and maintain a keen interest and understanding of the competitive landscape the MDU operates within, ensuring MDU regulatory compliance content enhances our market leading position.


QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Extensive experience of working in or alongside a medical or dental CQC regulated healthcare setting.
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent in a relevant discipline.
  • Detailed knowledge and understanding of healthcare legislation and regulations, including but not limited to CQC, data protection, FOI, health and safety, employment, equality, regulation of medical, dental and other healthcare practitioners, medicines management and COSSH, safeguarding vulnerable groups, RIDDOR, IR(ME)R.
  • Knowledge and experience of clinical governance, current NHS national policies, standards, clinical guidelines, requirements and directions that relate to measuring and improving the quality and safety of patient care.
  • Strong written, and verbal communication skills.
