Experienced Medico-Legal Adviser at the MDU

The Medical Defence Union (MDU) is the leading medical defence organisation within the UK. Our hallmark is the excellence of our professional services: indemnity for claims and legal costs, access to 24-hour medico-legal advice, defending the interests of individual members and improving patient safety through clinical risk management. We wish to appoint a Medico-Legal Adviser to our Advisory team which currently comprises over 40 doctors providing front-line assistance to over 200,000 MDU members.

The post is open to doctors who has experience of working as a medico-legal adviser. The post requires current GMC registration and applicants must have a licence to practise in medicine.

The successful candidate will need to be highly self-motivated, with the ability to prioritise their workloads within a busy environment. You must be able to think problems through and solve them.

Excellent communication, negotiation, interpersonal and written skills are essential. The ability to grasp complex information quickly is a must. Above average IT skills are a pre-requisite.
