We are seeking a dynamic and innovative Senior Design Engineer, with a minimum of 5 years experience in a similar workplace role, to join our team. Responsibilities

  • Conceptualize, develop, and refine detailed design specifications for new products or components
  • Utilize CAD (Computer-Aided Design) software to create precise 3D models and technical drawings
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, quality assurance, and R&D to ensure designs meet all technical and safety standards
  • Conduct design reviews, simulations, and testing to validate functionality and performance of prototypes
  • Identify opportunities for design improvements that enhance manufacturability, cost-efficiency, and product durability
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of design processes, revisions, and testing results
  • Support the transition from design to production by providing technical guidance and resolving design-related issues
  • Assisting the marketing team with image rendering and video media, website and social media content
  • Managing and implementing CFD based modelling and working with the R&D engineer in this process
  • Managing our in-house laboratory and working alongside the R&D engineer across testing projects

Qualifications / Required Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related field; advanced degrees are a plus
  • Proven expertise and experience in product or mechanical design using CAD software, specifically the applicant will be highly proficient in SolidWorks
  • Strong understanding of engineering principles, materials science, and manufacturing processes, particularly in extrusion, metal fabrication and injection moulding processes.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail and innovation
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly across teams
  • Knowledge of industry standards and safety regulations relevant to product development
  • Strong competence in Adobe Creative software
  • A strong competence in running CFD software would be a significant advantage - e.g. SolidWorks Simulator, Ansys Fluent, Simcenter STAR-CCM+

The successful candidate will report to the Technical Director and will be expected to manage the day-to-day running of the technical and R&D function.
