Field Service Engineer – Medical Laser Systems – Instinctive Ltd

Full-time | Remote / Field-based (London) (UK)

About the Company

We are a UK leader in the supply, support, and service of high-performance laser systems used in ophthalmology and aesthetic medicine. Established in the 1990s, the company is recognised for its technical excellence, strong customer focus, and long-term partnerships with leading global manufacturers.

Role Overview

This is a full-time, remote-based Field Service Engineer role involving regular on-site customer visits. The position is primarily hands-on working on aesthetic laser devices, focused on installation, servicing, maintenance, and technical support of advanced laser and optical systems used in clinical and aesthetic environments.

Key Responsibilities

· Carry out on-site installation, commissioning, calibration, servicing, and repair of laser and optical systems

· Perform preventative maintenance to ensure equipment performance, safety, and longevity

· Diagnose and troubleshoot electronic, optical, mechanical, and software-related faults

· Provide technical support and operational guidance to customers

· Liaise with manufacturers and supplier technical teams for escalated technical issues

· Maintain accurate service records, reports, and documentation

· Deliver a high standard of customer service and represent the company professionally at all times

Candidate RequirementsExperience

· Minimum 5 years’ experience in Field Service Engineering (medical devices experience preferred but not essential)

· Experience working directly with manufacturers or supplier technical teams

· Previous experience supporting complex electronic or electro-mechanical systems

Technical Skills

· Strong electronics troubleshooting skills, including analogue, digital, and high-voltage circuitry

· Qualified to at least HNC/HND level in Electrical & Electronic Engineering

· Familiarity with medical or aesthetic laser systems is advantageous

· Competence using diagnostic tools, test equipment, and service software

Attributes

· Calm under pressure with a structured and methodical approach to fault-finding

· Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical issues clearly to customers

· Highly customer-focused with good commercial awareness

· Able to work independently in a remote, field-based role

· Flexible and willing to travel as required
