Key Responsibilities and Duties:

This Service Engineer role is to provide Technical Support to Customers and staff in the form of installation, maintenance and repair for both Customer and Demonstration systems.

Principal Responsibility

  • Experience servicing, repairing, and supporting medical diagnostic or laboratory equipment.

  • Strong fault-finding skills across electrical, electronic, mechanical, and fluidics systems.

  • Good understanding of IT systems, Microsoft Office, Windows environments, and diagnostic software. Ability to read schematic and circuit diagrams and use electrical test equipment.

  • Excellent communication, customer service, organisation, and time management skills.

  • Self-motivated, flexible, and able to work independently in a field-based role.

  • Electrical/Electronic Engineering qualification (minimum City & Guilds Level 3 or equivalent preferred).

  • Previous field service engineering experience within medical or scientific instrumentation.

  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel nationwide, including occasional overnight stays.

  • Comfortable working under pressure while maintaining high service standards and attention to detail.


Key Skills and Competencies:

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar technical role.

  • Qualified to a Higher level in a relevant technical/electronics discipline.

  • Clean driving licence.

  • Good communication and problem-solving skills are essential.

  • Strong communication & interpersonal skills are a prerequisite

  • PC literate with good working knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Office products.

Qualifications

  • Applications are encouraged from engineers with a broad range of backgrounds, including laboratory device, medical device, pharmaceutical device, ex forces engineers (medical & dental, weapons systems, radar) and a wide range of other electronic or electro-mechanical sectors

  • Engineers with experience of the diagnostics field, including autoimmune diagnostics, immunology, biochemistry, haematology, histology, microbiology and immunodiagnostics systems are also encouraged to register their interest.

  • A competent background in a customer facing field service engineering capacity gained within any high value capital equipment environment is an advantage.

Location Requirement

  • UK based, some travel to Ireland may be required in a support and training capacity.

  • Travel around UK and time in the field supporting and engaging with customers.

  • Some EMEA travel as and when required for supplier training.

  • Attend meetings in the head office Uk and or Ireland.
