We’re seeking an Equipment Maintenance Technician who we can develop to provide essential technical and operational support to the scientific team.

About the Role:

The Equipment Maintenance Technician plays a key support role within the Oz-UK laboratories, ensuring that laboratory equipment is maintained to a high standard and that scientific staff are supported effectively.

The role holder will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of the manufacturing line along with the maintenance of general laboratory equipment. A genuinely hands-on position focused on the maintenance, servicing and repair of laboratory equipment. The successful candidate will be well supported in this role, with ongoing technical assistance from specialist external partners ensuring expert guidance is always available.

It’s a varied role that is critical to keeping our operations running smoothly, from cleaning to supporting experiments. The successful candidate will be comfortable speaking to suppliers, arranging repairs and servicing of equipment, and confident to resolve issues independently. Every part of the role is important and requires dedication and attention to detail.

About You:

We are looking for a confident, proactive, and reliable individual who takes pride in being practical and detail oriented. You will be keen to learn new skills, take ownership and responsibility for maintaining site equipment, and develop a long-term career within a laboratory environment.

Essential attributes:

  • A ‘level/ Level 3/Degree qualification in a science subject or equivalent level experience from a laboratory setting
  • Keen to develop a career in science and technology
  • Strong attention to detail and good organisational skills
  • Proactive approach essential to maintaining productivity
  • Ability to follow written procedures accurately
  • Willingness to learn new techniques and equipment
  • Good communication skills and a team-focused approach
  • Commitment to laboratory safety and good working practices

Desirable:

  • Pharmaceutical sector experience
  • Pilot plant experience
  • Experience of working in a laboratory environment (industrial or academic)
  • Experience of operating and maintaining lab equipment. E.g. Fume hoods, stability cabinets, pumps, balances etc (Specific training will be given)
  • Work experience in any sector where problem solving and communication with customers or suppliers was an important part of the role.
